This exceptional micro-lot offering comes to us from the Central Valley region of Costa Rica.  Finca Sabanilla produced this amazing coffee which was then processed at the Las Lajas micromill using the Alma Negra natural process. Alma Negra is a natural processing term meaning that the coffee beans are turned only a few times a day on the raised beds they are dried on.  This process creates a unique golden looking bean before roasting with a lively fermentation and agricultural smell.  When roasted the aroma becomes a fruity, rich and complex bouquet.   In the cup it is sweet and fruity with a tangy acidity, a balanced medium body and a pleasant finish.
